St. John's is a city FULL of talent. On any given night you can take a stroll down the infamous George Street and hear the best this city has to offer in music. Everything Jeremy has learned, he has learned from fellow musicians. Playing on George Street gave Jeremy the opportunity to meet many people, sing for audiences big and small, and forced him to learn music from every era and genera
Jeremy began singing on stages in 2008 and has been constantly singing on a regular, weekly basis at popular bars, restaurants and clubs across the island.
Jeremy's first started his interest in music with the drum as a young child. His first inspiration into his music career was watching his older brother, Jeff Dicks playing guitar and that is when Jeremy started playing Guitar and singing.
Growing up, Jeremy started performing in front of people in church choirs and later on into his late teens and early twenties he became a choir director at Corpus Christi Church in St. John's.
Jeremy also made it into the top 40 in the final year of Canadian Idol and met Justin Fancy, Todd Scott and Leanne Kean, who have all become part of who he is musically today. Upon their return from Canadian Idol the talented four became known as Caught in the Act. They performed at festivals and bars right across Newfoundland and became very well known to those in the music industry in Newfoundland. Caught in the Act split up a few years later as all the musicians wanted to pursue their solo careers.
Jeremy has been quite successful as a solo artist and has also been part of several successful bands over the years. He has had the opportunity to play on the same stages as well known Newfoundland artists Damian Follett and Fred Jorgensen and Arthur O'Brien of the Navigators.
In the Spring of 2014 Jeremy alongside of fellow musician and dear friend Carolann Fowler released his first original single "It's Not Me It's You" on CBC radio (check it out here: http://music.cbc.ca/#/artists/Carolann-Fowler-Jeremy-Dicks)
Jeremy became fortunate enough to have Tiffany Lawlor, Owner and operator of "Route One Entertainment" take him under her wing. As of February 2014 she has taken on the role as his manager, and has been busy booking gigs all over Newfoundland for this upcoming summer. Tiffany is also in talks with various venues throughout Canada as his goal is to have a Canada wide tour during the summer and fall seasons.
